François Gillet-Numa (Bordeaux 1868-1940)
Is a painter, ceramist, architect and archaeologist who lived in Montigny-sur-Loing where a street bears his name.
Student of Tony Robert-Fleury and Bouguereau in Paris ; He worked in the studio of ceramicist Georges Delvaux and received a medal at the World Expo 1900.
As an architect Francois Gillet Numa-built several villas in the style "Merovingian" and doted on the & rsquo; archeology and prehistory.
In 1911, he is a founding member of the Association of Naturalists Valley Loing up a personal collection of prehistoric objects. He was an alderman in Montigny-sur-Loing.
friend of’Armand Point, and working at Bourron Marlotte (close to fontainebleau in seine et marne) by his side.
His work is represented at the Autun museum, who ranks him among the symbolist painters
Pre-season French Artists, Knight of the Legion of Honour.
His paintings have a symbolist character, lyrical, fantastic, dealing with literary subjects.
