George Morandi (born the in Bologna and died on in this same city) is a contemporary Italian painter and printmaker.
It can be clearly identified with a specific painting school. The work of Cézanne represents his major influence : he borrows from it the monumentality of the forms and the dense zones of color. The artist develops an intimate approach to art. Guided by a formal sensibility of great refinement, he gives his landscapes and still lifes a subtle delicacy of tone and design, arousing in the viewer a contemplative mode.
Still lifes are the most important part of Giorgio Morandi's work. They represent carefully ordered objects on a table in the workshop, to be observed and painted. These objects are easily identifiable from canvas to canvas ; these are bottles or jars recovered from flea markets or given as gifts by friends or found in the street, and “painted in different colors for the tonal construction of the whole ”
Another work of still life with a bouquet is on offer.
