Udvary Géza
(Mrs. Géza László Udvary 20 September 1872 à Parbenyik – Zemplén Hongrie – died 4 February 1932 in Budapest – Hungary)
Painter, father of Pal Udvary, peintre. He did his secondary education in Kassa and Debrecen. Then he studied painting at the private lessons of BertalanKarlovszky then in Budapest, at the “Mintarajz” Drawing School.
Subsequently, for several years, he perfected his knowledge of painting at different schools of fine arts in Vienna., in Munich and Paris. He also stayed in Rome, in Florence and Venice.
At the beginning of his career he mainly painted portraits and landscapes., then figurative compositions.
After returning to Hungary for seven years he continued his studies at the KarolyLotz workshop., to his fresco master class.
In 1901 he was appointed assistant professor of anatomy at the National School of Applied Arts (Industrial Arts School). Between 1903 and 1930 he taught composition and figurative drawing at this same establishment as a full professor..
He was a member of the Benczur Society and the Association of Fine Arts Artists. In 1917 for his painting entitled Wedding Gifts he won the Lipotvaros Casino Prize.
Organized in 1917 and 1918 exhibitions at the Budapest Painters and Sculptors Fair (Picture and Picture Carnival Salon).
In 1932 Műcsarnok in Budapest an exhibition of his paintings dedicated to him in honor of all his work.
One of his frescoes large is the Millennium Chapel of Pannonhalma, and two other of his frescoes in the Hungarian Parliament (Hunyadi before the walls of Belgrade (Nandorfehérvar) The entrance and King Maya Buda Castle).
