Peter Winchell Sager (1920-1985)

Peter Winchell Sager was born in Vancouver in 1920. He completed his high school education in Vancouver, to Lord Byng, where he was a student of Beatrice Lennie . He was then a student at BC College of Arts and to the Beatrice Lennie School of Sculpture , but he was mainly self-taught. He was a sculptor and engraver using linoleum blocks.

He exhibited in the annual exhibitions northwest artists you Seattle Art Museum a 1937 and 1939.

He exhibited his work at the Toronto Art Gallery in 1939, at Northwest Printmakers in 1939 and the Canadian Society of Graphic Artists. He presented his work at annual exhibitions BC Artists in 1935, 1936, 1938 and 1939. He has presented personal exhibitions at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1937 and 1940. He exhibited a bronze sculpture at the Montreal Museum in 1964. He lived in Vancouver. at this moment.

Sager died in Toronto in 1985, according to information provided by M. Edward G. Margaret, who donated his research file on Sager to the Sarnia Art Gallery.
