Roger Auguste Charles Quillery
(Ronchamp 06/05/1914- Dammary Les Lys 02/12/1991)
It is formed in his youth by the famous Max Ingrand (stained glass master glassmaker of international renown), His work began around the Fauvist movement, it evolved around Cubisme and eventually a brilliantly around the abstract movement. He also realized tapestries to large sizes for larger homes of the era.
His pictorial works are very rare because, fleeing the tumult of Paris, he made very few exhibitions.
But something very important, he refused his lifetime to show his paintings (painting and gouaches) and kept them secretly in his workshop in Melun.
His works are characterized by the juxtaposition of contrasting forms, simple, often borrowed from Cubism, serving a very strong symbolism. He lets out a more inventive and more productive.
