François Gillet-Numa (Bordeaux 1868-1940)
Is a painter, ceramist, architect and archaeologist who lived in Montigny-sur-Loing where a street bears his name.
He was a student of Tony Robert-Fleury and Bouguereau in Paris ; He worked in the studio of ceramicist Georges Delvaux and received a medal at the World Expo 1900.
As an architect he built several villas in the "Merovingian" style and a passion for archeology and prehistory.
In 1911, he is a founding member of the Association of Naturalists Valley Loing up a personal collection of prehistoric objects. He was an alderman in Montigny-sur-Loing.
Pre-season French Artists, Knight of the Legion of Honour. His paintings have a lyrical, fantastic, dealing with literary subjects.
