Gilardoni Joseph (1882-1961)
Painter belonging to the French School of Traveling Painters. It appears from 1928 to the Independents (French school). We quote his scenes from the Far East and Africa.
The painter Gilardoni Joseph depicts in his own way in a shimmering way these magnificent Fulani women.
Fulani women : Fulbe ururbe or worworbe present everywhere, in Senegal, Fouta-Djallon, Mali, Niger, Mauretanie, Burkina Faso, Those are the Fulani from West, to l’East they take the name burure or bororo’en. They are among the first Fulani Who with are sedentary.
The origin of the human nucleus around which the “ethnic group” was formed pods is probably to be found among the “bovid herders” of the prehistoric Sahara, whose appearance and way of life, as they appear in the rock paintings of the Tassili, surprisingly evoke those of Fulani nomads today.
He is quoted by Nadine André-Pallois “Indochina : a place of cultural exchange ?” – French and Indochinese painters (late 19th century – Twentieth century) published by the Presses of & rsquo; d & rsquo French School; Far East.
