Fouille Georges Jean Clement (1909 1994 Paris-Leucate(hears))

Designed primarily for the Navy, his health obliges him to give it up.

Georges Fouillé then turned to maritime painting,named titular painter of the navy in 1947, he embarks on the Richelieu in 1949.

Excavated wanted to combine art historical research. Excavated George brings to his work as a historian accuracy. Fouille also produced toy soldier figurines as well as dioramas and models (Note the presence of Georges Fouillé (1909-1994), official naval painter, with which the National Maritime Museum (1943-1971) will collaborate for the exhibition little soldiers, big victories organized end 1944 – beginning 1945 by the Society of Collectors of Historical Figures).

He populated his 17th and 18th century ship models with enchanting miniature crews. He studied under Lelièpvre and his first works were dioramas for the marine museum. In 1955, he begins to make a series of mounted and foot models of the Napoleonic army and part of the American Revolution. The figures were made of metal, usually large sizes (about 18 cm), the details were welded to them and they were exquisitely painted. (The History of Toy Soldiers- By Luigi Toiati)

Leucate Cemetery (11 hears) : charming little enclosure in the shade of the cypresses, the softness of the place contrasts, as is often the case in southern cemeteries, with the imposing austerity of family tombs. Here rests in particular Georges Fouillé.
