Dredging consists of the excavation of soil or alluvium underwater (lacs, rivers, rivers, watringues, canals, estuaries, marine channels, etc.) It can be done from the bank, with conventional construction machinery or from a specialized vessel or barge.
The objective may be to carry out port engineering work (digging of ponds or channels), maintain river or sea channels used by ships when they have been filled with sediment, carry out backfilling operations to replenish beaches or gain land from the sea or extract marine aggregates to meet the needs of the construction sector.
The dredging work is carried out by specialized vessels and equipment whose characteristics depend on the nature of the work and the environment in which it must be carried out : hydraulic dredgers or mechanical dredgers, vessels capable of maneuvering or simple pontoons.
The extracted materials are stored on board to be transported further, placed in adjacent barges or evacuated by pipelines. Depending on its characteristics, the dredger carries out its work while being static or in motion..
Dredging products are most often either stored on land on developed land or discharged into the sea. (clapage), generally within defined perimeters
Another marine is proposed to you.
