Andrée Bordeaux-Le Pecq, (3 octobre 1910, Laval – 5 January 1973, Paris)

She comes from an Angevin and Breton family, daughter of Michel Le Pecq in Laval, she finishes high school in England, from where it returns a graduate of the University of Oxford. She marries 1935 a young lawyer, Mr. Jacques Bordeaux Drowning, and comes to live in Mayenne it creates a course in drawing and painting. His son, Jean-Luc, was born in February 1937 downstream.

Second World War

In 1940, student Othon Friesz at the Grande Chaumiere, it is influenced by Jacques Villon, Leopold and especially Survage, later, Jean Bazaine.
The Second World War the hard knocks : execution of his brother, the famous fighter pilot Bernard Le Pecq, great resistance between London and France, imprisoned by the Gestapo, then shot in Paris in October 1943.

Expositions

Andrée Bordeaux Le Pecq then participated in many exhibitions, and obtained his first awards as a painter, engraver, and cardboard manufacturer. His artistic career is affirmed and numerous exhibitions, both in Paris and abroad (Brussels, Munich, Vienna, Geneva, Florence, Rome, Ankara, Madrid, Barcelona, Dublin, Mexico, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Sao Paulo, Bangkok, Tokyo, and nearly a dozen US cities including New York) devote the talent of a delicate and sensitive artist, although manly by the force of the expression.

Inspiration

It is first inspired by the South of France, Provence, but especially by the coasts of Brittany and Normandy. She participated in the Salon of French artists, the Salon d'Automne and the Salon Nika-Kai in Tokyo. There are three periods in its production : a realistic period, a geometric-cubist period and a "painter of the sea" slightly abstract and colorful.

works varied

Note to his credit numerous murals school groups (volcanic lava glazed and Aubusson tapestry), downstream, Tours, Blois, Caen, Lisieux and Saint-Brieuc. She founded the first French museum of naive art (Museum of Old Castle) downstream, birthplace of Henri Rousseau. She also worked for the National Furniture (Beauvais factory), executed many tapestries for Feltin in Aubusson and illustrated many books. Pierre Restany, Henri Galy-Carles, Raymond Cogniat, Jean-Jacques Lévêque and Jean Cassou wrote beautiful pages Bordeaux Le Pecq.

Among his most important works painted, include many lifes, Port scenes, very colorful scenes coastal fishing, Mexican landscapes, snow scenes, des portraits, views of Saint-Tropez, St. Malo, from Paris, etc. His works are present in numerous museums, in Paris, Vienna, Sao Paulo, Tehran, Reykjavik, Tel Aviv, Phoenix (Arizona), Mexico, Rio de Janeiro, Jakarta and Tokyo.

She becomes a member of the May fair in Paris, and special assistant to Jean Cassou, chief curator of the Modern Art Museum of the city of Paris (Palais de Tokyo).

The lounges

In 1954, Andrée Bordeaux-le-Pecq is one of the two founders of the Salon Comparaisons, of which she is elected president the following year..

She is surrounded by a committee made up of artists Jacques de La Villegle, Rodolphe Caillaux, Vice-President, Robert G. Schmidt, François Baboulet as treasurer, André Sable, Paul Braig, Jean-Pierre Alaux, Maurice Boitel, Henri Cadiou, Bernard Mougin, Isidore Isou, Georges Delplanque, Jean Feugereux, another vice president.

To counterbalance the official art institutionalized by André Malraux, she elaborated a real international policy of free plastic arts by inviting in particular groups of painters from Federal Germany, Austria, from Japan, from Mexico, Iran to exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art with the French painters.

Obtaining a fully reciprocal, it allows figurative painters, lyrical and geometric abstract to communicate and sell a lot of paintings in France, in Japan, Mexico and the US, including extending the "Price Air France" in these countries.
