Abstraction village normand Bizette Françoise
(10 May 1914 in Lannion - December 19 1996 Sèvres)
Student of the Paris School of Fine Arts, She also follows the courses of the Louvre school.
During these years, She practices painting and engraving then she discovers ceramics. She obtains a drawing professorship in 1939 and, from this moment, She shares her existence between creation as a painter, sculptor, ceramist and teaching, activity to which she will devote great energy.
Sèvres high school
Françoise is appointed to the high school of Sèvres in 1950 And she will stay there until her retirement, in 1974. When it was created, The Sèvres high school is a “pilot” high school where all educational experiences and innovations are encouraged. She first worked as part of the "new classes" then she created the ceramic workshop of the technical section of the school, workshop that is always active in 2010.
L’architecture
It does not limit itself to teaching technique but it also gives lessons in high level art history. His approach is innovative insofar as his courses are based on the analysis of works and thus allows effective training of future visual artists, his students.
In addition to teaching, She creates an important personal work. From its first ceramic tables for the Élysée in 1946 up to the large wall of the Sèvres gymnasium in 1988, It performs around thirty orders entrusted to it by the State or various public authorities. These works allow it an architectural integration of ceramics on a monumental scale.
The painting
During this long period, She continues to paint and she exhibits in Paris in different fairs (Women painters, Navy Show, Fall fair) as well as in personal exhibitions in Paris and Le Mans.
Monumental ceramics involving significant physical expenditure, She devotes the last years of her life to painting and engraving. It notably takes advantage of the many stays made in a Mas of Saint Remy of Provence to give a personal vision of the landscapes of Alpilles.
She lived in Sèvres from 1950 In the company of his mother, and his brother, also sculptor, in a house built in collaboration with an architect friend. This modest but harmonious house located 13 Rue de l'Ermitage in Sèvres, Surrounded by a small garden, Atelier house equipped with a fairly reduced dimensions oven and in which it carried out most of the cookings required by its work.
Its cooking was practiced at night without monitoring the oven being ensured by any automatic device.
Françoise Bizette was a cultivated woman, sensible, attentive to others. Modest and discreet, She has always shown a great requirement towards herself. The fragility of his silhouette contrasts with the vigor of her work and the extent of his achievements.
