Some works are present at the House of Butchers in Antwerp as well as at the Albert Marinus Center (Iris bearer, flower of the city, by Charles Van Roose, 1930)

Here is an excerpt from Albert Marinus, L’Ommegang du Sablon in Le Folklore brabançon n ° 46, 1929 and Dthe pages 28-29 of the quarterly periodical 2nd quarter 2011 sheet N ° 101 edited by the Center Albert Marinus
The magistrate.

In this also very short part does not offer the possibility of making a very colorful presentation.

The costumes are rich, but usually dark in color. We can thus give character to the whole by the choice of shimmering colors for the drums, halberdiers and pages.

The group will look like this : drums and fifes, the city flower (False Iris 28 opposite : Iris bearer, flower of the city, by Charles Van Roose, 1930 (Collections Centre Albert Marinus) acore, and not the Iris Germanica which seems to us more in line with the meaning we want to give it and the botanical characteristics of these plants. See Brabant folklore 3rd year, p.85), the shovel, coat of arms, the masseurs, the amman of Brussels or 1st mayor designated by the lineages, who was at that time (1550), Jean de Locquenghien, creator of the maritime canal. The 2nd mayor is appointed by the trades and supreme head of Oaths, then, in black velvet suit and bonnet, arrive the seven aldermen, the six advisers, the six receivers and the large council composed of 24 members, 12 designated by the professions, 12 by the lineages.

The first wear the large red cloth coat of the deans of trades, and the second the mostly black and short of the time.

The whole group is surrounded by halberdiers and closed off by a picket of spearmen carrying a very long spear with a very narrow and elongated banner.”
