the Grand Canyon or Grand Cañon, in English Grand Canyon, a hopi Ongtupqa, En Yavapai Wi:kaʼi:the, is a canyon of the United States located in northwestern Arizona. The throat was dug by the Colorado river in the plateau of the same name. Founded in 1919, The Grand Canyon National Park covers a protected territory of 4 927 km². It is frequented each year by more than four and a half million visitors. The diversity and natural and landscape singularity of the site have made it recognized World Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 1979.

The Grand Canyon is located in the southwest of the United States, in the north of the state of Arizona.
