Harrewyn Denise (1915 Clichy under wood -2004 Montreuil)
Painter, she owed only to the will of her mother, who wanted to see her seamstress, not to have been at the factory like his brothers. A 13 years after graduation, she finds herself "cousette".
But she dreamed of illustrating children's books or newspapers.
Her father had her enrolled in a private school that claimed to teach fashion figurines to anyone who wanted to in a few months.. When she came out with her diploma, she went to present herself in department stores and fashion journal publishing houses, but the doors remained closed.
She lived and worked in the industrial northern Parisian suburb of Clichy. While she is best known for her well-crafted still lifes, she has also worked as an illustrator for children's books and calendar art.
She started exhibiting before the war and continued to paint and exhibit in the years 1990. We showed his work (works) in different places in Paris including the Salon de Printemps, the Salon de Levallois and the Artistic Society of Clichy.
Denise Harrewyn bequeathed to the city of Fontenay-sous-Bois "Peace in Ile de France", that she painted in 1988 and which is currently in the room of the restaurant "La Fontenaysienne". After living for many years in Fontenay, she dies on 22 November 2004 in Montreuil-sous-Bois.
